first game - small toy which, however is very rich with "tuning" of the ship. Two other toys - demoversions of games - simulators of sailing vessels and motor boats (Virtual Sailor) P.S: if somebody knows analogues of such toys, be kind to throw off a link on uploadings of a demo of the version in the personal message or leave a link at this forum, be it is very grateful! |

| Hugh Jeego Posted: Oct 25 2003, 09:33 AM | If the first one is "HMS Surprise", I d/ld that a while ago. It's pretty good, considering it has no graphics to speak of. It's a frigate simulator, if I recall correctly. Let's you set and trim the sails, navigate etc. No combat, though.
Virtual Sailor is good - I'm no real sailor, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of it's model (seems a bit arcadey to me), but it's fun and there are masses of free ships to download, of varying quality. I remember a Victory model that seemed to modelled on a house-brick. Not that I could do anything near that good |
