Recruiting Guidelines

Recruiting will be done by individual fleets for their members. The more active members you have, the more likely it is you'll get new members. Sea Lords VF will also find means of recruiting for the WHOLE organization.

New players
When you find a new player on line, first, help the person play. Send them for mods packs, patches, and whatever else they need to make their gaming enjoyable. Teach them how to navigate their ships, and to USE the programs.

Introduce yourself, your fleet, and your organization(s). Give them the addresses to the different organization sites. Let the new players look around, and decide for themselves what they want to do. After a few days, ask them if they have had time to check the links, keeping it low key. They spent money on the programs, and don't need to be hassled for just trying to have fun playing.

Once recruited (they decide "yes, I will join") send them to this site for signup. They have 3 options when enlisting:

After this, the following people should notify the recruit of acceptance:

"Poaching":
Fleets MAY NOT recruit from within other fleets.  Once a member has chosen a fleet, give them adequate time to get settled in, and decide for themselves whether or not it was the best choice for them.  If they find that they aren't happy with their choice or placement, they can choose to transfer fleets.

Transferring Fleet Affiliation:
If a member finds that he/she would fit in better with a different fleet, a transfer may occur.  We do ask that you give your fleet a minimum of six months before asking for a transfer.  Procedures for transfer are as follows:

Once someone has been recruited, don't drop them, keep with them and train them. It is policy for the new members to CHOOSE assignment. Ability to recruit DOES NOT require flag rank.
